We work in the dark -
we do what we can -
we give what we have.
Our doubt is our passion
and our passion is our task.
The rest is the madness of art.
"The Middle Years" from the character Dencombe

This semester at UW-L marks a return to another of my passions - photography. Although Commercial Photography is not exactly my cup of tea, it is a requirement for my photography minor. Fortunately Dr. Grant, our instructor, has allowed those of us on the fine art side of things to be more expressive in our images. These are all shot with a 4X5 film camera, certainly the love of my image makers.
Nels. I recently had my computer cleaned up due to it being loaded with garbage from 5 years of not knowing what the heck I was doing. After the cleaning, I found I no longer had your e-mail address. So I would love to hear from you. Charlie
After a nearly four decade career as a railroad engineer for the BNSF railroad, I am retraining myself for a full time retirement career as an artist. The mediums that are resonating with me are printmaking and sculpture, and how to present them in new ways representing today's world.

Nels, I love all these photos, but especially the chair. The lighting is perfect.
